About Us
Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden is an 11-acre public site located within the Burien and SeaTac communities of South Seattle, WA. The Garden formed when two private gardens were scheduled for demolition to make room for the flight path of Seatle Tacoma International Airport’s third runway. Recognizing the cultural and recreational value of the Elda Behm Paradise Garden and the Seike Family Japanese Garden, hundreds of community members came together to find the land, funding, and labor to relocate these gardens.
Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden’s unique collection of heritage gardens and plant collections located at the nexus of multiple diverse, urban communities positions it as a renown historical, cultural, and educational destination.
Mission: Connecting the community to nature through a diverse and beautiful collection of historical gardens.
