Track 1: College Athletics (Dr. Sara Lopez – Director for the UW Center for Leadership in Athletics; Dr. Maylon Hanold - Associate Director of Sports Administration & Leadership - Seattle University; Gary Hyatt - Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Academics - CWU Athletics)
Discussions on the following topics: the relationship between student athletes and their higher education institution; Title IX issues, funding, along with the opportunities and challenges facing college athletics.
Track 2: Social Media / Sports Technology (Russ Stromberg, President at Live By Osmosis; Melissa Thompson, North America Social Media Lead - Brooks Running; Other Speaker TBA)The evolution of the in-venue experience as teams and leagues strive to add value for on-site fans. How sports-related companies (teams; sporting goods companies, events) use social media to promote their teams, products, and services. How innovations in the digital space can further impact the game experience and customer experience in venues and globally.
Track 3: Event Marketing / Sponsorships (Tyler Unsicker, Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs- CWU Athletics); Dean Burke, Executive Director - Tacoma South Sound Sports; Nate Silverman, VP Corporate Partnerships - Seattle Storm; Adam Gescion, Business Development Director - Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center)
How sports and special events generate economic impact for communities. Discussion on sponsorships and activation. How naming rights and sponsorship sales are addressed. The execution of sponsorships across the major platforms to include the idea/solution generation phase during the sales process.
Track 4: Facility Management (Tim Higgins, General Manager - ShoWare Center; Erik Enright - Legends at White River Amphitheater; Matt Balk, Director of Operations - Tacoma Convention Center)How events are booked, factors that determine revenue generation, selling venue sponsorships, safety and security.
