The Success Foundation, the charitable enterprise of the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, is thrilled to announce that they will be sponsoring two teams for the NASA ANGLeS Challenge program as part of the launch of its Explorer’s Post. Participants will focus on exploring exciting activities and one-on-one mentorship from April through July of 2019.
 
The Apollo Next Giant Leap Student (ANGLeS) Challenge is a national challenge celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. Students will have the opportunity to recreate the landing using drones and robots.
 
Practicing professionals will share their stories and provide valuable information on what they use to further the work that they do. “Students will gain an understanding of future opportunities and build relationships that will surely have a life-long effect. Not only on their income earning potential, but their entire life.” Offered Foundation President, Andrea Reay.
 
Each team will have five students per team with two alternates for a total of fourteen positions available. The two teams will meet weekly to work on the challenge on days and times that will be most convenient for the entire team. Every effort will be made in scheduling to maximize participation.
 
All interested candidates should fill out the application and return it to Andrea@SeattleSouthsideChamber.com by April 10th at midnight.
 
All applications will be reviewed by committee. Special consideration will be given to those students that can include a letter of recommendation from a teacher and who come from underrepresented and underserved communities. Middle school through high school students are encouraged to apply.
