2026 38th Annual State of the Region

38th Annual State of the RegionOne evening. Regional leaders. One conversation about the future of South King County.
The Seattle Southside region is growing faster than ever. New developments are reshaping our communities, major transportation investments are underway, businesses are navigating an evolving economy, and decisions being made today will define our future for years to come.
This is your opportunity to hear directly from the leaders making those decisions.
Join us for the 38th Annual State of the Region, where the mayors of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, SeaTac, and Tukwila will come together alongside regional, state, and federal leaders to share the latest updates on economic development, infrastructure, public safety, housing, transportation, workforce initiatives, legislative priorities, and the opportunities ahead for our communities.
Unlike a traditional keynote event, State of the Region brings every level of leadership together on one stage—giving attendees an unparalleled opportunity to understand how local, regional, state, and federal priorities intersect and what they mean for businesses, organizations, and residents.
What You'll Gain
- Hear firsthand updates from the leaders shaping the future of our region.
- Learn about major projects, investments, and initiatives before they make headlines.
- Understand the legislative priorities and policy decisions that will impact our businesses and communities.

The City of Des Moines will be unable to participate in this year’s State of the Region due to a scheduling conflict with its regularly scheduled City Council meeting. October is also a critical period in the City’s 2027–2028 budget development process, requiring the participation of City leadership and senior staff.
We value the City of Des Moines as an important regional partner and appreciate its continued engagement and partnership throughout the year.
