• Success Foundation

  • In December of 2017 the Chamber established and filed for 501 c 3 status with the IRS and the State of Washington.

The Success Foundation was created to be a charitable enterprise of the Chamber, dedicated to the success of our region in Southwest King County.  The Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of our region and it’s communities by participating in education, workforce and community engagement and development projects and research.

Success means a lot of different things to different people. For the Chamber, and our new charitable enterprise, it means that the people that live, work and enjoy the businesses, communities and amenities in Southwest King County are supported, encouraged and invited to create and define their own success stories. Our community should be recognized as the place where businesses, residents and community partners are able to live out their best lives. With poverty rates in our community exceeding the state average, we know we have our work cut out for us as we focus on raising the tide for all in our region. We also know that we can’t do this work alone, and we need your help.

  • A few of the projects the Success Foundation is actively working on now to improve our community:

    1. Regional Workforce Coalition Facilitating STEM education at all levels of Secondary Education in the region, Success Foundation plans to provide structural support for clubs and classrooms, paid internships, and mentorship programs to assist in student retention, and to curb the current and future workforce shortages.

    2. Community Events and Workshops:  Success Foundation is planning its annual “State of our Schools” event.  This and other events will strengthen the bond between businesses and their respective communities. We will also reveal more about our Workforce Coalition at our State of Our Schools Luncheon on August 10th, follow this link to reserve your space and for more information http://www.seattlesouthsidechamber.com/events/details/state-of-our-schools-luncheon-1069

    3. Change for Success:  Partnering with Chamber Members, the Foundation plans to encourage donations to fight the root causes of housing instability within our region and other key issues affecting our various communities’ quality of life. We have also added a “resource” section to our website to better help facilitate access to these resources.
