• Success Foundation

  • In December of 2017 the Chamber established and filed for 501 c 3 status with the IRS and the State of Washington.

The Success Foundation was created to be a charitable enterprise of the Chamber, dedicated to the success of our region in Southwest King County.  The Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of our region and it’s communities by participating in education, workforce and community engagement and development projects and research.

Success means a lot of different things to different people. For the Chamber, and our new charitable enterprise, it means that the people that live, work and enjoy the businesses, communities and amenities in Southwest King County are supported, encouraged and invited to create and define their own success stories. Our community should be recognized as the place where businesses, residents and community partners are able to live out their best lives. With poverty rates in our community exceeding the state average, we know we have our work cut out for us as we focus on raising the tide for all in our region. We also know that we can’t do this work alone, and we need your help.

If you are interested in supporting this work either with a donation, serving on the advisory council, or are interested in learning more about the work plans and initiatives of the foundation, please contact Andrea H. Reay Andrea@SeattleSouthsideChamber.com

A few of the projects the Success Foundation is actively working on now to improve our community:

    1. Change for Success-A program in partnership with Chamber Members that encourage customers to donate spare change to help fight homelessness and the root causes that can lead to housing instability within our region.

    2. Scholarship Awards- The Foundation hope to provide annual scholarships to those that may not otherwise have access or means to continue their educational and personal advancement.

    3. Internship and Mentorship Opportunities-the Foundation hopes to provide paid internship and mentorship programs to youth in our community and to communicate other opportunities available within the region to help students and young professionals gain practical on the job experience to help benefit their professional development.

    4. Community Events and Workshops-The Foundation hopes to sponsor and host education and workforce development partnership and committee events including but not limited to our annual “State of our Schools” as well as other job and career fairs and workshops
