  • The Chamber hosts a number of committees as an organization dedicated to the improvement of our Southside community.

     

  • Ambassador Committee Ambassador Committee

    The Ambassador Committee is made up of Chamber-Member volunteers who are liaisons of our Chamber. Ambassadors attend functions and events and provide a professional and hospitable atmosphere for everyone. This Committee offers each Ambassador a gateway into learning more about the business community and places the Ambassadors in the limelight of the Chamber as they are often the first people to engage a business.

  • Burien Creative District Committee Burien Creative District Committee

    The Burien Creative District Committee works in collaboration and strategic partnership with Arts organizations as well as businesses and community stakeholders to research and potentially create and establish a state-designated Creative District within the City of Burien.

  • Public Safety District Roundtable Committee Public Safety District Roundtable Committee

    The Public Safety Roundtable is a group that focuses on the most important topics in the cities of Burien, Des Moines, Normandy Park, Tukwila and SeaTac.We share trends, best practices and resources for businesses and community members.

  • Education & Workforce Development Coalition Education & Workforce Development Coalition

    The Education & Workforce Development Committee works in collaboration with employers, educators, and job training programs to ensure local students receive an excellent education and relevant training to prepare them for the workforce and/or higher education or vocational training.

  • Governmental Affairs Council Governmental Affairs Council

    The Government Affairs Committee focuses on the issues that matter most in our region and the communities we serve and notifies the Chamber Board when a specific position needs to be taken. The Seattle Southside Chamber is also part of the South Sound Chamber of Commerce Legislative Coalition (SSCCLC), whose collaborative advocacy efforts work to improve the business climate. The work of the Government Affairs committee allows the Chamber to serve as the voice of business at all levels of government to include monitoring and advocating for legislative issues and concerns. 

    2% of membership dues are used for lobbying and government advocacy and are not tax-deductible as a business expense.
