    The Apprenticeship Program Manager oversees the implementation and maintenance of the related supplemental instruction of for apprenticeship programs statewide. This includes college/high school coordination, course planning, instructor supports, facility planning/maintenance, and the overall management of day to day program operations. The person in this position will supervise two program staff, the Technical Specialist who coordinates program logistics (facilities, safety, equipment, program materials) and the Apprenticeship Services Coordinator who coordinates apprenticeship support services (communication with apprentices, registration coordination in apprentices and quarterly classes, compliance, and retention). The position also partners as a part of a larger apprenticeship team with the Manager of Instruction, Manager of Curriculum, and Youth Apprenticeship Program Manager. 




    Salary: Starting at $65,000, negotiable DOQ

    • Three or more years’ experience in program management, with a focus on education and training.
    • Experience working within or in partnership with a college or university highly desired
    • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.


    The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following:

    • Manage the delivery of related supplemental instruction for apprenticeship programs across Washington state ensuring RSI is delivered in accordance to AJAC standards, policies and procedures, contracted obligations and within funding budgets;
    • Coordinate facilities, equipment and safety management for AJAC apprenticeship programs at each location around the state;
    • Develop and maintain necessary Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with facility partners;
    • Draft and circulate for signature all FTE Agreements for partnering colleges;
    • Maintain computer use agreements (as necessary) at all applicable locations ensuring computer access and the necessary software is available to include, but not limited to, software upgrades and login information for instructors and program participants; 
    • Supervise the tracking and maintain asset inventory at each location and storage facilities to include equipment (supplies, tools and materials);
    • Map out the apprenticeship master schedule each year, communicating starts to colleges, working with the Manager of Instruction to hire instructors, and managing scheduling changes quarter to quarter.
    • Manage quarter start: Schedule and create classes each quarter, populate quarter class rosters, build courses in ATS, collect all required forms for each location for apprentice registration for each quarter start, confirm registration of apprentices;
    • Communicate with apprentices (in partnership with the Apprenticeship Services Coordinator) information about quarterly class enrollment and scheduling. 
    • Troubleshoot student performance issues, issues with online learning in conjunction with the Manager of Instruction, and breaks in apprenticeship training, supporting struggling apprentices to continue with the program;
    • Coordinate delivery of textbooks and other instructional material to instructors and apprentices
    • Reconcile registered apprenticeship rosters for invoicing;
    • Submit grades to colleges at end of quarter;
    • Oversee safety program including the bi-annual DOSH consultation visits for all locations hosting AJAC courses (including Youth Apprenticeship) and implement follow up recommendations in coordination with facility owners; 
    • Maintain the Accident Prevention Plan and assist with instructor safety trainings as needed;
    • File all program documentation as required (manually and electronically); 
    • Confirm SBCTC annual tuition amounts, confirm tuition at all college locations; 
    • Work with Marketing Manager to create draft of potential June graduates in the preceding August for planning purposes, audit apprentices for RSI completion and OJT reporting gaps;
    • Coordinate MSSC online learning and testing protocol. Proctor instructor assessments, purchase and electronically distribute student assessments to instructors for assignment. Create satellite AJAC proctor facilities to administer MSSC assessments; 
    • Additional troubleshooting and various other tasks to assist multiple departments
