SUMMARY:Success Foundation: Workforce Discovery Lab 2025
DESCRIPTION:Workforce Discovery Lab (WDL) is a 5 day exciting summer youth program serving students in the Highline and Tukwila public school districts. Our mission is clear and impactful: to act as a bridge connecting education with real-world workforce opportunities. Through hands-on workshops and partnerships with local businesses\, WDL gives students the chance to develop professional skills\, explore a variety of career paths\, and prepare for their future success. It is a free internship with low barriers\, allowing for discovery high-earning career opportunities. \n\nEach summer\, students participate in a fully immersive on-site workshops over the course of a week. These workshops introduce them to a diverse range of career fields\, including technology\, culinary arts\, aviation\, engineering\, finance\, business\, photography\, dance\, medicine\, politics\, hospitality and more.\n\nIn addition to exploring these industries\, WDL hosts a specialized masterclass designed to prepare students for future job opportunities. Topics include resume building\, crafting an elevator pitch\, taking professional headshots\, mastering interview skills\, and creating a standout LinkedIn profile.\n\nAt the end of the program\, we hold a special graduation ceremony where students have the opportunity to share their experiences\, insights\, and personal growth with their family and friends. This celebration not only recognizes their hard work and achievements but also builds their confidence in public speaking and self-expression. To honor their commitment and the skills they've gained\, each student is awarded a $500 stipend as a reward for their dedication to learning and professional development.\n\nWorkforce Discovery Lab is more than just a summer program\, it's a launching pad for students to discover their passions and confidently step into their futures.\n\n\n\nThe Seattle Southside Chamber will be closed August 11th through August 15th for the Workforce Discovery Lab.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nAbout the Success Foundation:\n\n\nAs the Chamber's 501(c)(3) charitable enterprise\, the Success Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of the Southside and its communities through education\, workforce\, and community development.\n\n\nThe Success Foundation promotes and improves the economic development opportunities of the Southside and its communities.
